SUMMARY:Head of the Pend Oreille Regatta 2017
DESCRIPTION:Once again the Northern Idaho crew and committee volunteers are gearing up for our September Head of the Pend Oreille Regatta. This will be our seventh annual event and with this year we are adding some new activities and moving others. It is hoped you will be able to join us this year. We will be sending entry forms in August as well as posting it on our website\, porpa.org. The HOP (Head of the Pend Oreille) Regatta is located in Priest River Idaho and held at the Priest River Recreation Area (AKA the Mudhole). The last weekend in September finds rowers from all over Idaho\, Washington and Canada converging on the Pend Oreille and Priest Rivers for a week end of rowing competition and fun! Friday September 29th is entry arrivals and rowing practice from 2PM to 6PM\, there will be safety boats on the water. Saturday starts with the 1700 meter HEAD race at 8:30 to 12:30 (break for lunch until 3 PM) AT 3 PM the 600 meter STAKE race starts and that will run through until 5 PM Sunday October 1 starting at 7AM we're inviting the crews to "Experience the Pend Oreille River" A row with the PORPA group (Pend Oreille Row and Paddle Assoc.) There is no charge to attend this event\, the only cost is the pre-purchase of BBQ tickets for Saturday's lunch.
