About Us

Dogsmile Adventures is a 501(c)(3), nonprofit therapeutic sailing program based in Sandpoint, Idaho. We create powerful opportunities for people to discover healing and potential through sailing adventures. While our focus is on underserved communities, such as veterans, youth, and those facing the challenges associated with addiction, domestic violence, and physical or mental disabilities, our programs are open to anyone who believes that spending time on a sailboat will make them feel better.

When you purchase a private lesson or daysail from Dogsmile Adventures, you're actually purchasing two. One for you, and one for someone in our community who doesn't have access to sailing; and I can assure you that the feeling of the wind on the water is significantly enhanced by the feeling of compassion you gain from buying someone a boat ride.

We provide 1/2 day (4 hour) private sailing experiences on Lake Pend Oreille from June through September. These sessions support our free programs that serve: veterans, youth, and those facing the challenges associated with addiction, domestic violence, and physical or mental disabilities.

We have morning or evening sessions available Tuesday to Sunday. In the heat of the summer, we encourage people to book in the morning for a better chance of optimal sailing conditions.

We do not provide any food or beverages. However, guests are welcome to bring anything they'd like to eat or drink while out on the water.

We believe that sailing can heal anyone who's brave enough to join us. All are welcome!
